In 1976, Steve Suffoletto (Buffalo, NY) became a freshman at Rochester Institute of Technology (R.I.T.) in the College of Graphic Arts & Photography (GAP), in the School of Printing. There were about 700 students. Classes were 10 week-long tri-semesters.

2002 Heidelberg donates Sunday 2000 heatset web printing press to Printing Applications Laboratory (PAL)
2001, 2001, 2003
2012 press is sold
2012 School of Print Media changed to Media Sciences
2020 School moved to College of Engineering Technology (CET)
2025 Department of Print and Graphic Media Technology deactivated
2025 Department of Packaging still offers printing classes
2025 Dept of Packaging combines print & packaging programs.
1992-1997 Steve provided independent contract training and consulting services for RIT's industry outreach dept.
1997-2010 Steve was an employee of RIT's Technical & Education (T&E) and then Print Applications Laboratory (PAL) departments.

See my post from Feb 11, 2023 when Erie Community College (ECC) in Buffalo, NY deactivated it's printing program. I taught lectures and labs there for 15 years. Being so close to Rochester (60 miles, 1hr), several students transferred to R.I.T. to continue their higher education.
 
I remember when Xerox first introduced the iGen, you had to send one of your people up to RIT to learn how to run it.
 
In 1997 RIT had a Kodak Nexpress, Indigio, Xeikon and Heidelberg QuickMaster DI in their Printing Industry Center (PIC) lab.
