Indigo 5500 and full page screens

that is a very huge statement. in my oppinion, the indigo is by far the best colour digital device out there. i can easily get strong solids and screens, it's all about knowing how to use it propperly, which comes in time. anyway, get a tech in and have them look at it, as with any real press...

    NexPress vs Indigo

indigo does spot varnish too, in my experience the indigo has very little downtime and is a good solid machine with a good resale value, you gotta remember if you can sell the machine for 1/4 of what you paid for it then that sorta makes a diff to the purchase price. also it's possible to pay...

    Indigo vs. Nexpress

well said by signature, just dont sign the install complete docs untill you're happy. then you never have to pay anything. I'd be putting the hard word on to your rep. to me it sounds like you had a crap tech install it, which can make a HUGE difference!

    Indigo vs. Nexpress

the indigo is a great machine. I dont have a 7000 but ours has been nothing but excelent. It's possible that you just had a bad tech install it and if you just ride out the problems it may come fine. our 3500 was working great on the 3 day after its arival and have had no serious problems since...

    Thoughts from Indigo users...

yeh i'd be pretty interested in trying to make a custom rip for it, what it really needs to do is, have a hot folder you can dump a pdf into, then that rips it into a jlt file and dumps that file into the indigos hot folder. I'd be more than happy to do anything to help. I have a HP Indigo...

    Thoughts from Indigo users...

hmmm, interesting, what'd be really useful is something that can do the opposite, like conver a .ps .pdf or something like that to a jlt file, so you can rip really slow jobs on another pc. any thoughts on that?

    Xerox 700 or Docucolour 5000

i'd buy 2 or 3 700's for the same price as 1 5000, at the end of the day clients dont care about dpi, the want flat images, no oil on the sheet. Xerox cant handle that fact, and always try to push the 5000, but the fact is most clients prefer the 700.

    Best digital press today?

indigo kicks but really in my experience, scratching is a small issue if you do lots of mailed work, but just coat it on a litho press. Personally after going from xerox to hp i'd never go back
