    Rasterize vector objects

With a Pitstop-action you can rasterize a page (keeping text), but I only want to rasterize the vector objects with a lot of anchorpoints / nodes. Does anyone know if it's possible? Thanks in advance!

Convert images in a PDF with adjustment

Stephen, I get one PDF file for the complete brochure. The cover should be printed on uncoated paper and the inner pages on coated. The images in the PDF are CMYK without a ICC-profile tagged. The thing is: - The client wants me to adjust the images, so add contrast and saturation. - I want to...

Convert images in a PDF with adjustment

Thanks all for your comments. This action is for a brochure with a uncoated cover and coated internal pages. The clients wants me to add more contrast and saturation. So I want to do the 'enhancement' on RGB-images. Then do the conversion to PSO Uncoated and PSO Coated. The PDF from the client...

Convert images in a PDF with adjustment

Thanks for the reply Joe. Is it only possible with the PitStop colormanagement preferences? Or is it possible to convert the images to RGB relative colorimetric and do the conversion to CMYK perceptual in one action? I also want a action for uncoated and coated so I don't want to use the Pitstop...

Convert images in a PDF with adjustment

I get a PDF-X4 with a FOGRA39 output intent from a client. I always do 3 actions to convert the PDF to improve the images for printing in offset. 1. Convert all images to AdobeRGB with a Acrobat preflight. 2. Apply a RGB-curve to all RGB images with a PitStop-action. 3. Convert all images to...

    ISOcoated_v2 300 pt3 vs. PSO_LWC improved

When you take a fingerprint-test of the press on must see that you gamma of your press is smaller then ISO Coated (with your lack of magenta and yellow). I would take a look at other highly pigmented ink. On which paper do you print? Gloss, silk, mat?

    PPF from Apogee

Thanks your your reply Lukas, I'm a user. We are starting up with prepress interface on our new press, but there's a lot of configuration that needs to be done. The prepress interface works. It can read the ppf files but it isn't suited right of the ppf files. For example, we want the ppf...

    PPF from Apogee

I don't know much about PPF and prepress-interface, but I was wondering if PPF files are basicly the same if they come from different RIP's? So, is the hierarchy of PPF files from different RIP's the same? Is there some website where I can find more information? Thanks in advise, Roel

Quark 7 docs in Quark 8 text flow

It is very frustrating that I will be forced to use old versions of Quark. We want to offer a high service level to our customers, so I can't tell them to supply us PDF's. Then we lose the flexibility to fix technical problems. We frequently get questions to adjust images, change the spine of a...

Quark 7 docs in Quark 8 text flow

Shawn, it's is not always possible to open the files in the exact same version of Quark. Some of our customers is still working with Quark 6. We advise our customers to upgrade or switch to InDesign, but we can't refuse old Quark files. A lot of our customers appreciate it very much that we fix...

    Font Problem Please help!

Looks to me if it is an unsupported font-encoding. What is the fonttype of the uncommon characters? Type 3? (You can check this in the PDF-properties.)

Quark 7 docs in Quark 8 text flow

Fritz thanks for your reply. I checked the amount of kerning and it is different than the default, but I can see that Quark 8 is importing the same amount of kerning. So, the kerning is the same, but there is still some different textflow. Any other suggestions?

Quark 7 docs in Quark 8 text flow

We regularly recieve Quark 7 docs from our customers that we process in version 8.1.6.2. But sometimes we notice that the text flow is different then in Quark 7. This is very frustrating, because I can't find why the text flows. I think that Quark converts the track amount incorrect. But I...

what is the best way to print black and white images

I prefer to make a duotone with Black and a gray PMS, but this means a fifth colour if it's a CMYK-job. If there isn't any budget for it, then I think a quad-tone is a good option. I'm want to make a wetproof to see the results of some different settings. Has anyone done this test before? If...

    Remap CMYK range to spotcolor

I think I have discovered the problem. When I change the simulation profile in the output preview window, then the spotcolor appears. When I switch back to my previous simulation profile the spotcolor stays. Thanks anyway. Roel

    Remap CMYK range to spotcolor

Hi all, I want to remap a CMYK range to a Pantone spotcolor in PitStop Pro 08 (Update 6) in Acrobat 9.3.2 on SnowLeopard. But instead of remapping to a spotcolor it converts the CMYK range to another CMYK values. I have used the remap function in the global change window. What went wrong? I...

    Softproofing uncoated paper

Hi, We have our monitor profiled and certified with to the Ugra Display Analysis and Certification Tool. Softproofing of images with ISO Coated works really great. It is matching our Sherpaproof and also the print. However, the softproof of ISO Uncoated doesn't have enough 'power' when we...
