Font Problem Please help!

We use Signastation and Metadimention.
When we receive some jobs with uncommon characters, we get surprises after the RIP:
Some characters disappear or become blank rectangles
On the policies of the template for the font it states that the job should abort if font missing.
We have to "create outline".
Same problem appears before RIP if we take the PDF, make a post-script out of it and PDF again.
The local heidelberg agent is avoiding to answer and his only solution is to use create outline every time.

Looks to me if it is an unsupported font-encoding.
What is the fonttype of the uncommon characters? Type 3?
(You can check this in the PDF-properties.)

Hello Nicolas,

There can be various problems with the font. Did you check the PDF against any PDF/X specifications?

Tomorrow we have a meeting at the Ghent PDF Workgroup where we discuss futher specifications. Would be possible to get hold of the PDF?

The font is TrueType
