    ink on water pan rollers

You need to get your ink/water balance correct. I used to find that on my sheetfed if I took over from another shift I'd have this problem! Gradually bringing my water and ink down prevents it from coming back it's emulsified ink. I just think you've got a smaller window with which to work...

    Heidelberg 18k perfector!

Indeed that is something to behold. Things move on though and that's all gone. The digital age is here and people don't want to wait for things anymore. If I plonked him in front of an xl105 he would be as miffed as I would in front of his kit.

    Heidelberg 18k perfector!

It's an entirely different ball game. Generally speaking a higher quality of work is achieved on a sheetfed press. I never printed toilet paper I can assure you of that. Webs are all about acceptable limits and speed, quality comes last in the equation. I've done an 18k iph make ready on an...

    Heidelberg 18k perfector!

I'll be honest with you I'm entirely new to the web market and I'm on a m600. Enjoying it so far, although the type of work I'm printing now is far from what I was doing before. Looking to learn the folding aspects of the machine.

As have I. What webs have you been on? I'd be interested to swop notes on old Heidelberg webs with you.

    sheetfeed rollers

Depends what sort of work you're talking about really? It's possible to run zero alcohol but better results are achieved with it.

    sheetfeed rollers

I can produce 155 000 sheets of four colour in a 12 hour shift with various make readies. My pans are spotless at the end of the day. I run my alcohol at 1.5% and dose my fount at 4% my damping runs at between 23 and 30% (stock dependant) I'm within a delta e tolerance of 2.5 after 300 sheets...

    sheetfeed rollers

Bottcher pans and dampers swell. They're a nightmare. When the machine first came out they had Bottcher inkers Westland pans and dampers. That's what Germany recommended. They then fell out with Bottcher and went all Westland. They are now doing a deal with rotordyne as they have better...

    sheetfeed rollers

Must be American? I can assure you that you are behind the Europeans here. I've been all around Heidelberg research and development department in wiesloch and they use westlands. Rebranded as saphira. I've never heard of A-Korn rollers to be honest so must be an American company. Therefore I...

    sheetfeed rollers

Glad I could be of service to you squire! Let me start by saying I couldn't give a toss about the "fundamentals" as you so eloquently put it of which properties make good offset inkers. So in short no I can't! Could you tell me where your experience lies with 18 000 iph perfectors and carton...

    sheetfeed rollers

Bottcher rollers are cheap and inferior. You know nothing about this subject so stay out of it. Heidelberg refuse to use them as they can't handle the speed of the new machinery. If you're running a 10 or 20 year old *** which runs ** jobs day in day out at a poultry speed then perhaps Bottcher...

    Makeready Time

Wow! Loving the sound of a 3 hour make ready. I could go home in that time have a sleep and still be quicker. Ha. Get the proper kit and it's a 6 minute make ready between sections between jobs longer if changing coating blankets so probably 15 mins.
