All of our 6/color presses run wih 2 people , our 5 / color half size runs 1 operator and shares a feeder from time to time. These are also a mix of UV and conventional . I could not compete with 3 or 4 guys on a press.

We run our QS3200 in the medium speed mode to get the quality aproc 585 dpi with heavy smoothing. our through put is about 36 feet per hour about 300sq. ft. per hour running the highest quality will double the print time and the fastest will be about 30 % faster depending on substrate

We are not expecting service to come from xpedx, there are a lot of Ryobi's around our area and we have 2 other UV presses so as I said we are not overly concerned that there will not be any options . It just is disapointing that a company as large as IP / EXPEDX did not think this through...

not really , we are a uv printer and have had minimal success with white/ silver/ white inline curing but usually have a screen white or we put a laminate blockout on it .

We have also had problems with the same issues off our Igens. It has to do with the fuser oil, we found that of the 2 options the older type of oil allowed for a wider range of not only film lam and coating but the ability to tab seal direct mail pieces. You might want to try that.

That is my understanding also, my experience is mainly with Grapho. Our ink supplier had said that 3-6 months was the shelf life and we always added these driers just before running.

We are using Hybrid mostly but will use conventional in the same way. The cost of going back and forth with washups is much higher than just leaving the hybrid in. As far as gas ghosting we have not had much problems with that for some time .

We print overall UV coating on both Yupo and Polyart without major problems . You do have to monitor the heat as it can cause distortion on the 2nd side. Coating does wet out better on Yupo than Polyart but both run at normal press speeds and cure well.

Being an old inky I am sure that Heidelberg has formulated their product to be best suited ... But Sun or Sakata or whom ever should be able to formulate an ink that performs .We have an in house manufacturer and I am sure they would argue that they could not match the properties.
