water activated driers

I have been using water activated driers for many years. Grapho, Graphtec, etc.
I have been told recently that these products have a shelf life once in suspension in the ink.
Does anyone have insight to this?
If they do have a shelf life, how long would it be good.

That is my understanding also, my experience is mainly with Grapho. Our ink supplier had said that 3-6 months was the shelf life and we always added these driers just before running.
