I have a Gestetner 5499....here recently it's been tell me that their's no master on drum or it rolls on master on top of another...It usually take me 10-15 minutes of burning and wasting masters to get it to run....ANY IDEA WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS???

Looking for Service manual for the Gestetner 5499...It has a service code of SC07-30...which say it's the (Friction pad motor lock)..I have the service codes, but need to know where the friction pad is. It also says if the sensor's status remains the same after the motor turns for 5 seconds...

I have a Ricoh JP4500..I downloaded the print controller and installed it on 3 differtent operating systems (xp,7,and vista...all with the correct versions for each system). I tried through both usb connection and serial, this duplicator does not have a network card so those are my only two...

I think it's an optional feature you can add to the printer, the only out put on the machine is a parallel cable. I'm going to order a parallel cable and see if that fixes the issue, but..not sure if it will. I took the parallel cable off my Gestetner and could still turn the auto on line...

The only way I can print from my computer is through the usb port. My Gestetner dose fine through the usb, but I use an adapter onto the parallel cable to hook in to the computer. I think that might be the reason I'm having trouble.

Question: Would it matter if I had the printer hooked to the computer with a parallel printer cable adapter (25 pin to usb). Should use a standard parallel printer cable and then use the adapter to hook into the usb port?

The cable might be the problem..I may have bought the wrong cable..but there is no way to set up the on line options in the user tools, it's grayed out for some reason, which may be the cable. The printer is not network ready so the only way to print from the computer is via cable.

I tried accessing the online paramat's but it looks grayed out, like you can't select that option. Is there a reason for this?

Yes, I plugged it in several of the port and they all recognized that new hardware was installed....but it want print from the computer, the printers auto on line or on line buttons want lite up...I tried my installing the driver on my desktop and laptop, but neither worked. Any ideas what could...

There was a business card on the side of the machine for a company who used to service it...We tried to have them come out and look at it, but they did not service our area..Long story short they too recommended Hytec thats who they use for board repairs.

Thanks for the reply..I noticed when looking for the manual on Ricoh's site, they give you the manual for the JP4500 and for Type40 RCP40. Is that what I should be looking for Type40 RCP40? BTW you where right about my Gestetner 5499 after doing some test with my meter I pulled the power supply...

Just purchased a Ricoh JP4500 and I'm having a hard time finding that specific driver on there web site, will the Ricoh universal print driver work for that machine, or is there a specific driver made for that machine that i should use.

I'm not an expert but the only thing I can see that might be the power supply is a board that's 1ft X approx. 2ft...But thats where the power cord comes in and every branches off from there..I'm I right in saying that the power supply? If so LOOKS LIKE I NEED A TECH!!! I was just trying to save...

Lost power to my Gestetner 5499 duplicator yesterday, heard a small pop, tested the main power fuse and got nothing...After replacing the fuse the machine still will not power on!! Any advise as to what would be causing the problem..All fuses seem to be fine:confused:.

Just bought a AB Dick 9840...Never used one, and I have no idea how it works...Could someone please point me in the right direction...I really need to find the owners manual for this machine.
