Just wanted to share a tip. You can pick up the AB Dick 385's quite reasonably. I have 2. I found out that you can print 18 x 18" paper - barely! But this will allow you to print 6 up 6x9 books, if you cut them for perfect binding (which is what we do). Cut the paper exactly 18 x 18, feed it with the grain across the press (perpendicular), and you have an inexpensive press that will compete with much larger presses in book printing. Register is plenty good for book printing, and if you can get it with a Kompac, that's better yet. We do our own in-house layout, and have figured out how to do the imposition for our set up. We find ourselves using our 385's more and more - it's just a matter of putting everything either on a 17x22, or 18x18! Keep 'em oiled and clean and you'll print for a long time. BG
