The May/June issue of Paper360 magazine shows results of a Two Sides survey about global attitudes towards paper & paper-based communications. The article concludes a clear preference for print on paper across all countries and regions analyzed—Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, UK, USA. Many prefer paper-based communications to digital for a variety of reasons, including ease of reading, tactile experience and a lack of Internet access.

Survey highlight results:
  • 88-91% agreed responsibly produced & recycled, print & paper can be a sustainable way to communicate,
  • 85-89% agreed it is acceptable to use trees to produce products when responsibly managed,
  • 80-85% believe “go green & go paperless” environmental claims are merely attempting to save costs,
  • 62-79% believe printed information provides a more permanent record,
  • 72-77% would be unhappy to pay a premium for paper bills and statements.

I expected to come here and see they polled China and India, this makes the results more interesting.
