AB Dick 9910XCS & T-51 Issue

We had an accident with a jam between the T-51 plate and the blanket. Now we can't get T-51 plate to blanket image, even with the adjustment on the front of the Head at full pressure. I need to put a couple of sheets of Bristol underneath the plate to get enough to transfer the image, which, of course, causes other issues.
Is there another way to adjust the pressure or are we looking at major repairs?

As I recall the T-51 sits on a bracket with three bolts. Those should be loosened than adjust the side turnbuckles for overall pressure and side to side stripe. Snug the lower bolts and recheck.

Is this a Super T51 or just the standard one? There is an overall pressure eccentric pressure stem. As a tech I followed the procedure in the manual and some of my own steps. The frames on the head could be twisted also. That affects the forms also. I would level it also by loosening the T51 ty bars also. The base rockers nut should be loose, use the middle nut as a pivot point. Leveling screws also should be checked with target plates


Plate to blanket pressure can be changed by loosening the screw (V) and
turning the cylinder pressure stem (R). Moving the stem down increases the
plate to blanket pressure. Moving the stem up decreases the pressure. When
the pressure is correct, the stripe should be 1/8 - 3/16 inch (4mm) wide
or as light as possible consistent with good printing. After
completing this adjustment, tighten the screw (V).

I’m a bit rusty on this but I would make the same adjustments as above if it's the super. Just make sure that you do this after you’ve put a new blanket on. Any blanket smash that is serious enough to physically move your t head would have destroyed your blanket for sure. The 9910 is more forgiving with blanket smashes because the cylinders are spring loaded. After you put the new blanket on then reset the plate to blanket stripe on your 9910 then make the adjustments on your t-51.

If it's not a super t-51 make sure the locking nuts on the turnbuckles are tight after you adjust your plate to blanket stripe otherwise they can move over time.

smalloffsetpressexperts after reconciling your suggestion I realized that you were referring to the same stem that I had already tried. It would not adjust enough to solve the issue. Further to that, I can tell that the pressure, when impression is on, is uneven, with the non operator side much looser. Will adjusting the turnbuckle on that side as pdan suggested help or is there something else to adjust?​

For it to go out that much suggests to me there might be parts needed.

This will be a weekend project for me but I'm just trying to get a head start.​

The goal is to make sure the head is Parrell to the blanket. This will assure your form rollers can be adjusted also properly. Twisted T51 frames can happen. Do you have a manual? If not I have many from ABDick/PTek from 360 up to 75 DI and some ctp
