AB-Dick DPM 2340 and Windows 64bit

We have had a DPM for several years and it's been bulletproof. Because of this we put one in our new office in VA to replace an Itek 617 (Yes people still use them.) This location was an acquisition so I'm trying to set up the RIP along with my Tech and we're having a bear of a time. We downloaded the latest PPD from Presstek and every time we try to add the printer we're told the drive is not compatible. This is the 64bit driver.

The system is Windows Vista home premium 64bit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Go to ECRM's website ecrm.com and download the latest PPD/driver package. It has the 64 bit driver that should work.

I tried posting this yesterday but here was the solution.

I called someone I know at Presstek and on the 64bit systems
the printer has to be set up as a local printer. You create a
new local port such as \\dpm23401\ABDCMYK. The printers are now
working fine so we don't need the hot folders.

Apparently if you add the printer as a network printer it only
checks the driver on the DPM and never looks at the correct
driver on the System you are installing to even though you are
pointing the installer to it.
