I am wanting to be able to texture a substrate with maybe and probably gesso and then print on that surface. It seems that it might have the right absorbtion rate, and that it is quite flexible. I also would not have to be applied real thick, perhaps just about doubling the thickness of the canvas.
Whether or not you have had experience with this, I would like to know your thoughts pro/con. I think it would give the finish product a very rich look. More like an original painting. It might require a facial surface sealer to accept the inks correctly.
I just finish a successful attempt at after texture applied with a sponge and palate knife, using the extender that they use in acrylic paints. It dry clear with a matte finish and waterproof. It does not look fake like a lot of similar uses in the past. I would still prefer the texture under the paint. Thanks for any guidance on this subject.
