Anybody use a HP Designjet Z5200PS? On a recent print trial on a HPZ5200 using a third party resin coated semi gloss media, the ink was rubbing off. It was not a drying/puddling issue as such pure black 0r0g0b panels and photographic shadow regions were dry and smudge free. Saturated colour areas and three quarter tone areas would smudge/rub off (leaving a dry residue on the fingers). The ink was not wet as in over inking, it was as if the ink was not being fully absorbed by the RC coated media, even an hour after printing (this RC media is both dye/pigment capable). Epson print tests have not had this issue with the same media (driver or RIP).
This was using the HP driver, not a RIP and different driver settings were tried with the same results. A different brand non-OEM paper also had the same smudge issues to a slightly lesser degree. I have not compared using OEM photo paper.
