I've been using a 24" iMac, with glossy screen for about a month now.
The screen glare is intense, especially when working on dark images. I have found that if you hold up a black sheet of paper (in between yourself and the monitor) it helps to better detect edges on dark images and images masked onto dark backgrounds.
I used to use a hood on my old CRT monitor. Not sure if a hood will do much good for the glossy screen, though.
Anyone have any tips for reducing the glare? I know there are matte films out there, but have heard they wreak havoc on any calibration.
