Automatic Color Slug

We are using Preps 6. Currently we manually place color slugs at the edge of the sheet. If we use a spot color we would have to place that color ID as well.
My question is, is there a way to have these color slugs placed automatically based on the colors used in the imposed PDFs?

We are still on Preps 5, but we use the text mark $[color_offset]. We also use Prinergy as our front end. Thios may not work with your rip.

You should be able to put in the colour slugs using smart marks. You still have to go in and select the mark in import smartmarks but you can put in parameters so that the mark will constantly appear where you want it regardless of the sheet size used.

We are also on Preps 5, and use the text variable mark ($sig_$side_$ color). We have it setup as a Smart Mark group, so it is always positioned in the same spot on the sheet, .25" from the left side and 1" from the bottom, at 90 degrees. That particular Smart Mark group has all of the needed marks for the press sheet, so one click puts in all of the needed marks, including color bars. This makes creating new templates very fast and effortless.

Is "Smart Marks" part of the Preps software or is it a separate program ?

We are running Preps 5.3.1 and use 3 separate compounded slug lines that capture every detail we could possibly need on an offset job.
