i've used XMPIE software to create plans/variable digital printing before, but my question is this:
a customer gave us a label that needs to have this: "ALL-barcodenumbersallthewayto1,000". ( so ALL-barcode )
The only way I remember to do so is by using a font called Free 3 of 9 extended, and create a plan from the customer's database file using XMPIE and it does it all for ya.
Is there another way to do this since this company I work for now doesn't have XMPIE software? thanks guys...

3 of 9 makes it relatively easy, though you can have tow problems:

#1 - It's really bulky
#2 - It fragile

Depending on your application that could make it unsuitable. If so, you can also find free barcodes for Code128 which has a check digit and is comparatively tiny.

In both cases, the easiest hackish way to generate the barcode is probably to fill up an Excel sheet with the numbers you want, and then use it as an import source for a mail-merge word template to print them out.

In the case of 3of9, it's really simple -- just do a fill from 1-1000 or whatever and you'll have generated the whole list. For Code128, you've got some work that will have to be tailored to the font you use, to both convert the numbers you want to the right character for the font and to make the check digit.
