I am having issues with the gray colour coming from black half-tones.
Whenever there is text or a fill, the gray is very dirty.
Greens, purples, pink ... no problem but gray is never perfect.
Anyone facing the issue ?
It's printed offset. Plate is perfect. If I see check the half tones with a magnifing glass some halftones are touching each other or some a slightly bigger than other
Pull grey balance test prints and print them and go from that.
It could be a press room issue or prepress.
You have not given enough detail to pinpoint.
Are the SID numbers in line? If so what are the final dot% numbers on paper? What order do you lay down your ink?
Plate, you say is perfect - perfect in dot% or pefect as in clear?
Are you able to measure your dot gain on your black unit. Do you know what your dot gain normally is and if you do has it increased for some reason. You might want to try an Intense black and see if you can carry less ink film for the same density.
Just some suggestions to get you going.
