C.P. Bourg 3002 vs Horizon BQ-300

A few months ago, we did a demo over Zoom on the Horizon, then a local distributor had a tradeshow and we were able to see a demo in person. We were impressed both times. Fast operation and easy to setup. We have a great relationship with a finishing equipment supplier in our area (excellent service and pricing) so we are not even considering the Bourgh since they don't carry it. However, in your case, since your operators are used to the Bourgh, and you've been 'quite happy' with it for an impressive 16 years, I'd suggest sticking with Bourgh for the sake of keeping your operators happy and a more seamless transition.

On a side note, we currently do all of our perfect bound on 2 of our Konica Minolta's using their inline perfect binders. The units are decent, but are down more than we care for. Additionally, it slows down the printing, and costs more since most of our books are statement size. Going offline will allow us to print at full speed and run 4up on 11x17 to save on click costs.

Good day, I was also deciding between Horizon and Bourg. In the past, I had a used Bourg, but there was a problem with the electronics and it broke down very often. Now I have a Horizon BQ-300 and I can say that it’s truly a great machine.
