Cobra HighWater / Maya Processor

Hello
We have a Cobra High Water Torrent direct to plate and a Maya processor.
We have been having problems with the images disappearing off the plates once they are processed.
This happens with screens and solids.
We have raised the temperature of the processor and also the laser on the rip and still are having the problems.
We use agfa digital photopolymer plates and violet processing chemicals.
Any one else have this problem or now of any solutions?
Thanks
JM

Please work with your local plate supplier for optimized support.

Is this a manual feed device? If so, I'd take a close look at plate
fog situations - a nearby monitor, improperly filtered light, light
leaks, etc. But again, I'm not tech support.

Regards,

N91 - Negative photopolymer plates... so, lightleaking should increase exposed area, not image disappearing.
<<We have raised the temperature of the processor >> Preheat or Chemistry?
To find the culprit - the best way is to change the stack of plates by other stack with different batch number.

Hello
Thanks for responding
We have raised the Preheat and also have tried many different plate batch numbers.
Once again
Thanks

Do you use a kind of digital control strip on your plates to evaluate the correct exposure value?

There are several things you can do, one is print the calstrips out, with say 3% difference in laser power(done from test tool). put this on press, and see which laser power holds, then use this value as your setting in your layout file.

When was the unit last serviced? There is a good chance the optics are the cause. If the enviornment is quite dirty then optics can get covered with dust which reduces laser power. most usual signs for this are loss of image on press, fine reverse text filling in, or a halo effect around solid areas. This is usually easy to fix, but should be done by correctly trained engineer, as doing it incorrectly, can be expensive.

Are the images completely falling off the plates?...or are the images falling off in lines? or spots? Alittle more info would be appreciated.
