Color Toolbox (Dry > Wet Standard)

I've been working my way through Color Toolbox, trying to implement these fancy color tools that we're not taking advantage of. I'm trying to create a "Wet Process Standard" in the "Process Standard" tap. In the help file for this section, he says to use a CS4i or FOGRA4 control strip. It also says to measure it using Prinect Image Control or Prinect Axis Control (inking series), which we don't have. We have an X-Rite spectro scanner for the press.

Do these particular control strips have to be used? Can others be used? Is it possible to establish a wet standard using our X-Rite spectro scanner? Can a strip be used that works with the Eye-one isis?
