I think they basically do the same thing, measure offset printing plates and display results. both can be hooked up to a computer for historical data collection.As far as value for money they both do the same operation its all down to which one is easiest to use and will be used everyday. I dont have experience with either of these products but i have used Techkon Spectro densitometers before and they are easy to use and navigate through the various functions unlike an X-Rite which i dont find user friendly at all. my 0.02c
