Hello,
We're a medium size commercial printer with a few pieces of digital equipment for letter-shop printing, etc. We have a long standing customer that has asked us to provide a web-to-print solution for a lot of their copy work. Basically, we’re being told it would be 1 or 2 sided B/W or Color 8.5 x 11 copies on standard house stock.
Management has asked me to research pricing structures on these items to be competitive with existing copier shops so that we can make this financially viable for both customer and ourselves. We have just about ironed out all the workflow procedures and processes but don't know the best way to price things. We're used to machine hourly rates tied in our MIS system with overhead, labor, etc. We're not used to unit pricing or things of that nature. Would anyone be willing to share some insight into how they price copy work?
