Ctp Advantage DL N92-VCF

Hi, We are a small newspaper printing plant with to presses one Kba colora double wide, double round and we also have a Goss Community single wide single round. We have a lot of problems with our two ctp Agfa Advantage DL with an Low-chemistry process VCF 85, plates N92-VCF. Our plate format is 791x595mm so panorama. The problem is that everything sems to run pretty good, the plates looks okay when they come out the VCF 85 but when the plates is in the press the images one the plates begin to disappears after 10-20k?? We use fount solution from Fountmax Green Q7 ph neutral from Fujifilm (ph 7). We have checked everything on the two presses and it seems to be allright. In the beginning the was no problems but it suddenly began to get worse and worse for every day. Do any one have the same problem or have an idea with it could be??

Check laser exposure first. If an increase is required more than 10-20 percent from what it used to be, you probably need to call in the service guy to clean the optics.

There is NO developer process but pre-heat and washout. In case of bad washout you will get a toning problem but not dots loss.
I would like to recommend you to read some information about any plates with pre-heat to understand how inportant that step of platemaking, and you will find a culprit easier.

Do not get confused. You have an error on the processor. Why the processor overheats? Why do you have an error? Don't you have to open the Circulating pump's collar and Clean it? First make sure your processor is optimized before considering issues like plates,ctps, chemistry used in Press Shop, press machines and so on. One at the time.

First and foremost is to make sure that your plates have not expired. Then check that the plate temperature out of the pre-heat is 116DegC. (Thermax strip range of 77-127DegC applied to back of plate) Processor temperature errors are usually caused by bad circulation of the "dev" (wash-out) liquid, usually because of defective or blocked pump or pipes, or possibly a defective cooler unit. Also, the "Dev" wash-out liquid should be 24DegC. Exposure should then be checked using a standard UGRA 1982 plate control wedge. Step 1 to be solid - same as plate background, step 2 can show a little deterioration, step 3 shows some cleaning, step 4 should be clean but a little residual scum is also good. Only after all this has been controlled, then possibly call a qualified service engineer to diagnose and advise further and possibly clean the optics. We have a number of customers using the Agfa VCF system with Advantage-N CTP and Community presses and they are very happy. This system is VERY stable and is very forgiving when conditions are correct.
