Hello,

we have chance to buy brand new xerox 5252 (old stock) for price of new DC 252. Our printing volume is hardly over 12.000 A3 pages pro month, but outsourcing is not an option.
We knov, 252 have enough capacity for our needs, bud 5252 is higher class machine but if our mohntly amount grow up in next half year on app. 30.000, then ...
We still have DC12 which is no more reliably. About 252 we know more or less, with 5252 we have no experiance.

I' kindly ask for your opinion and comments dear friends.

252 is slower then 5252 but it can print on larger paper
5252 is an outdated model, but still a step forward from dc12
i am afraid there may be more and more problems with outdated rips and always new pdf enhancements, so i would go for a newer model.

the DocuColor 5252 has been out of the market for quite a few years so far. there's no more development from Xerox on it; for instance, I recently found someone that needed Windows Vista drivers for it are there are just none. In addition, the maintenance portion including click rates is more expensive than what current models have, and they will continue to increase year over year.

my suggestions, stay with a current model.
