dieline export from Quark

For our die maker we are exporting the separation "dieline" to a PDF. The PDF contains all art from the file, hiding everything but the dieline.

Our die maker wants all hidden art to not be in the PDF. Is there a way to export a separation to PDF and not include hidden objects?

Use the Layers palette to segregate all of the dieline elements to their own layer. Then, when exporting the dieline, only have the dieline layer visible.

Have you tried placing the dieline on its own layer and then turning the other layers off?

Sounds good, except a little more complicated.

We have a Quark file with a placed EPS. We need the dieline, a red foil and a blue foil PDF. The EPS has art sandwiched together, so it's not as easy as separating the art and bringing into layers.

Should have made this more clear in the beginning!

If that is the only artwork in Quark, maybe you can skip Quark altogether and do the same thing but from Illustrator EPS?

Don't know if i'm missing something here,but you can open the pdf in illustrator select the die line,lock it,and then delete everything.
Save a new pdf and send it to the die maker and keep the original for print!

Good for the dieline, but not the red and blue foil. Red and blue are duped, offset and sandwiched with white to create a special drop shadow. I'm thinking the only way to simplify is to create masks.

You can use PitStop or callas pdfToolbox to isolate the die line from other objects, remove non die line objects and then save it out. Fairly simple to do.

You could try printing separated postscript with only the spot colors you need active and then converting that to a PDF.
