Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for the sales of Print, Distribution and Digital Magazine solutions. The Director is responsible for identifying opportunities, handling Sales proposals, closing and onboarding Print business within a defined geographic territory. This position is designed for selling of new business, and will have no responsibility for ongoing routine account management or maintenance activities. Compensation for this position is paid as commission on Sales Revenue generated and collected.
Essential Functions:
1. Performs job duties and conducts self in accordance with Allen Press, Inc. core values.
2. Fundamental understanding of print and services available to and used by the AP customer and prospect community, as well as industry trends.
3. Assess customer needs and communicate effectively with Sale Support team to generate effective proposals.
4. Present features, benefits and proposals to prospective customers.
5. Close business successfully and initiate customer onboarding process.
6. Successfully execute assigned sales activities as determined through the management and executive staff.
7. Identify, develop, evaluate and implement customer driven sales strategies for print and digital magazine products, based on knowledge of customer needs and company objectives.
8. Monitor customer, market and industry developments to identify new sales opportunities in the information distribution market.
9. Use sales forecasting and strategic planning expertise to generate short and long term sales forecasts.
10. Work with the marketing and sales staff to coordinate customer sales activities.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Abilities:
1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other related field or 5 years equivalent work experience required.
2. Experience selling at the executive level with a proven track record (past performance) of routinely negotiating large annual contracts.
3. MINIMUM 7-10+ years of consultative/solution based selling in a B2B environment within a business solutions or capital products environment. Commercial Print industry experience is preferred.
4. Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Adobe: PageMaker, Photoshop, Acrobat
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
6. Considerable attention to detail
7. Able to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks
8. Deadline oriented
9. Possess a team attitude
10. A self-starter who is highly organized
11. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as a team member
12. Ability to work in busy, fast-paced environment
13. Ability to walk and climb stairs to access all parts of facility as needed
14. Ability and willingness to work in excess or 40 hours per week as needed
15. Ability to travel by air extensively is required.
