duplex on ricoh c7100

having trouble duplexing on half sheet portrait...any help would be appreciated

Real sheet size?
Tray being used?

20# tray 3 5.5x8.5...machine says it cannot duplex..landscape works fine,, not portrait...

That's pretty typical. Just duplex it landscape. The 5.5 inches is too short for the roller gaps so it'll jam, but 8.5 is long enough.

The only reason we run 5.5x8.5 is when we are doing perfect bound books since we have the in-line perfect binder. Otherwise, we would run a job 4up as you described to save on clicks.
