Duplo Collator Blank Screen

Hi there, Duplo Collator. DC-10/60.

Screen is not showing all the information it should?. see photo5. If the screen was blank or partially blank, I'd suspect a faulty connection. It's almost like the whole collator needs resetting somehow.
Obviously, I have turned off. (I have turned everything off not just the tower). Pulled cables out etc...

Probably something really stupid, I'll kick myself

Any thoughts much appreciated.

thanks Simon

you need a battery for the display asap. If you wait too long it will need to be reprogrammed. Look on Ebay for a PL-28 looks like a rootbeer float with the cable on it.

Hi Dennis
The feedback I'm getting from a local technician is that if it was the battery! it should show up with an error message. Which it obviously is not. Any feedback on this would be appreciated.
thanks Simon

He is correct when you power the tower on it comes up with F960****??? I forget exactly. But what you show is the basic grid of the display and with the battery it fills in the numbers, arrows etc.
If you have a meter you can check the battery for voltage. Maxell ER3 3.6 volts PM-20BL
Remove the big cover, along the right side of the terminal board there is about 4 connectors to unplug. Remove 4 display screws and lay display on its face. There is a little door in the middle about 1x3" pop it open and there is the battery. Unplug it and check your voltage.
Are you able to run the collator just not control anything?

Hi Dennis
Thanks for the info regarding the voltage
Yes I can run the tower but can't control anything as I can't see what I'm doing. Having said that I can't seem to reduce the speed and I can see the down arrow? Being an old set up I can't run flat-out and the default speed is fast.

Still point to the battery. they are cheap enough like $20 to try.

Hi Dennis. Thanks for asking. Still waiting for the new battery to turn up. The casing holding the battery was broken so I have had to order one of these as well. The voltage in the old battery was very low so am confident this is the problem.

I'm still on the lookout for anymore old(ish) staples for this machine.

Will keep you posted. ta Simon
