Duplo DC-616 gutter error

hi all, my duplo says the gutter deflectors need to be retracted, but they're already up and out of the way for. I rebooted the machine and moved the deflectors up and down to no success. I cannot see any kind of sensor that tells the machine what position they're in.

anyone had a similar problem with a solution?

I found the sensor. I had to take off the front cover. I vacuumed the inside of the machine, but I guess i couldn't quite get to the sensor. Vacuuming the sensor on the inside of the front cover got enough dust out to let the sensor work.
