Duplo + Fiery Impose

I have a Duplo 618 and fiery impose. They are connected on the same network, I can publish files from my work computer to the PC controller that's connected to the Duplo. Connection is good. I have downloaded several Duplo presets from EFI Fiery's website. I added the .dbt business card file to the impose preset folder, and add the .j618 business card preset to the Duplo software. Same file name for both file types (.dbt, .j618), 12x18 24 up business card. I impose a business card, I load the preset that is now under the drop down in impose for 12x18 24 up business cards. It does it. I print it. I insert the 24 up 12x18 sheet into the Duplo, select that same job, 12x18 24 up (J618 file) on the Duplo and hit go. It cuts, but everything is off probably .25".

When I print a blank template for 12x18 24up business card it cuts that perfectly. I compare the uncut blank sheet to the one that has business cards and they do not line up. Gutters are different. I would assume since I have the same template in impose AND in the Duplo software it would impose where they should for that template and the Duplo would cut for that template. I am banging my head against the wall. The only thing I can think of (and I'm sure I'm wrong) is that the impose template file (.dbt) and the Duplo template file (.j618) are different.

Any input is appreciated.

My experiences with the Fiery created/supplied templates were quite underwhelming. Either they didn't work as described, or it seems to me that I ran into the same issue. I'd just fix the template and re-save over it, getting support from Fiery about their templates was a dead end.

Yeah, both Fiery/Duplo don't offer any help with this. How do you suggest I fix the template? I can manually enter in gutters/bleeds but that seems like it would take forever and create a lot of waste. I even did the create template through impose, published it to the PC Controller connected to the Duplo and it cut way off.

I guess I could bring in calipers and measure everything on the blank template that works? I may reach out to another store and see if I can get any of their templates.. if anyone here has any impose templates that work I would be very interested :D

Are you using the registration mark? Little grey rectangle thing in the top corner of your imposed template? And if so - is your duplo 618 set up to read the reg mark? The purpose of that mark is to let the duplo know where the toner laid down on the print. if it's 0.25" off from what it expects, it'll adjust all your cuts to match. Very helpful for machines where your registration is not consistent page-to-page.

Yes, tried with and without reg mark. Didn't make a difference. I think I have concluded that the 2 file types of the supposed same template are not the same. I ended up measuring from the blank template that cut perfectly and making my own template. Been a rather steep learning curve for my small brain but think I am finally getting there. Duplo builds a quality piece of machinery, but their software and integration at least with Fiery is a bit dog water; feels like they haven't done anything since 1997. Fiery's inability to offer any kind of support also disappointing. Appreciate the replies and suggestions.

Duplo 646 owner here. We create our templates in the Duplo desktop software and import them into Fiery Impose. I agree that the software ecosystem is something out of 1990s.
