Duplo System 5000 - remove SCC?

Hello, hoping someone can help me with my Duplo System 5000 booklet maker. We have the sheet feeder, then the SCC, then the booklet maker and finally the trimmer. The SCC stopped working and, never worked all that well to begin with. I was hoping to pull that out of line and run without but when I did, I now have a SCC communication error on the sheet feeder. Are there settings or dipswitches or something else that needs to be changed so I can achieve what I was hoping for? Is it because I am missing the D-port cables? I don't have them. Any idea where to get some/ them?

What sheet feeder do you have? 2000 or 2200.
