Ecrm Stingray 63 loop problem

[Basit]

When outputting film the Stingray 63 is stuck at "Correcting Media" & stays like that forever. We have to press the stop key on the panel lightly for the job to continue. Once we press the stop key it shows "Creating Loop .... Testing Spinner ..& starts recording. The machine is connected to a mac G4 with Ecrm Rip 6.0.
The Media Correction test from the Stingray works perfectly.

This is usually the lazy loop drive motor belts need tightening.

Basit, in addition to the above advice you may need to :
1. clean the input rubber rollers
2. check the input cassette tension by pulling some half meter film, should require moderate force. If too tight you will get either correcting media or vertical aligment problems on consecutive seps. If the film roll seems too stiff take it out from the cassette, check the side flanges and reinstall the roll properly
3. Check the dancer roller and clean it if necessary, it should travel up and down with no restrictions.
