Email notifications with FTP 7.5

Greetings All,
I have recently installed a new server running FTP 7.5 and would like any suggestions regarding how to get multiple email notifications when my clients put files into their folders. I am thinking I need to run a third party software to accomplish this task.
The FTP is running on a new Dell box with WS 2008R2.

Thanks!

You can use Enfocus Light Switch to monitor the server folders and then send email notices on a per folder or per job basis. For example, if you have a folder for "apple" where the user apple drops all of their files you can have switch say "all files put into the apple folder will always have an email address of [email protected] AND will always have the email address of [email protected]". Then the file(s) get moved to a server location and an email address is sent to [email protected] AND [email protected]. Similarly you can setup an email where any file coming into the user folder "foo, inc." will have their email sent to [email protected] AND [email protected]. Yet one more option is to only notify internal users using the same kind of logic or one group or individual email address.

Light Switch runs as a service and can do so much more than just basic notifications like this. Then you can graduate to FullSwitch or PowerSwitch and do some real workflow automation if the need ever arises.

If you're mainly working on a mac and you can mount the ftp folders on your mac desktop, I'm pretty sure you can use your mac's default scripts such as "add - new item alert" by using the Folder Actions. It will display an alert window on your computer each time someone puts a new item inside the folder. You can also edit the script to also send email notifications.

I know you are running a Windows box, but you might consider switching to a Mac.
I use Rumpus (Maxum Development Corp.) on a Mac. It starts @ $269.00 and is very powerful, but simple to set-up.
I have a directory for every one of our sales people with their own log-in. When a customer uploads a file, it sends out a notification to the appropriate salesperson and CSR. It contains the name of the file, etc. It is customizable to have all sorts of info.
