Esko Upgrade Debacle

So I would like to update this post. Esko, realizing my frustration on understanding the pricing, performed fantastic customer service and not only explained the situation, quote and terminology, but had a specialist fly out and meet with me to not only fully explain but explore advantageous options that we hadn't even thought of, which ends up coming out to a similar cost but gives us increased flexibility, performance and expandability.
I would recommend anyone wanting to update/upgrade their Esko systems to talk to not only the Esko Sales rep but the Esko Solutions Specialist. Its a complicated system, but having a solution specialist work with you, gives you the best outcome for your buck.

I don't know how to change the Header but the "Esko Upgrade Debacle" should now read "Esko has now made my life super Easy".

The word daft comes to mind... This isn't unique to them. I've been through things equally as demented with them as well as other vendors. The thing is for a company the size of yours you don't really have any (realistic) options for software other than ESKO. They do have the packaging market cornered...

It sucks, but then again we never drop support. Not that we open that many support calls, but the benefit of the support contract for us is the upgrades. We are always looking to increase the automation capabilities via new functionality in new versions.

BTW, you should talk to you salesman. A company of your size should have no problem negotiating the penalty. I know your salesman. I would think that he could help you guys out with this.
