Fiery Lock Up

Anyone experiencing the RIP locking up? We have had new hard drives, and system software reloaded several times. The RIP will start but when Command Workstation loads it freezes and locks up the RIP. Sometimes a restart will work, other times not. Going to attempt Command Workstation from a remote PC, but I have my doubts.

I'm about at the point of having Xerox replace it. Waiting on a specialist to get back. Second level support said theirs "acts up" too. Thinking it's windows 7 screwing things up. I'll check fans in the morning, thanks!

I don't think it would be anything with an automatic software update. My fiery is set to update every weekend and has been running with no problems. We both have 1000's so I'm guessing it's specific to your machine Craig.

It appears after several conversations they believe it may be a hardware issue. Now we wait for a new Fiery.

We had probs with our Fiery 308 mainly with it being upgraded from Vers 5.5 up to Vers 5.7. Very frustratng as the freezes aren't consistent with any particular function. They can occur during print runs, during Impose, or just after startup from powersave. Currently we are back at Vers 5.5 and it is very stable with no freezes or lockups now for a week.

After replacing the drives, mother board, new computer. Our problem was still persisting. I was working on another project, so was not able to oversee their trouble shooting and repair. Finally on the last re install i realized the las thing the tech was doing was reinstalling our profiles from the flash drive. Can any one say corrupt? Once they stopped that. Everything is working just fine.

On our new Fiery the Javascript update kllled it so we blocked it from installing after ghosting it again, on my old Fiery's both identical one of them suffered the same as yours, sometimes took ten reboot attempts. Re installed it many times which lasted just a few weeks then it went back to sometimes starting sometimes not. Tech couldnt find the fault and it remained like that for the remaining three years of the contract.....It seems they are a complicated beast to troubleshoot the only joy we had was one of the fierys with exactly the same install never missed a beat.
