Former President & CEO of Koenig & Bauer-US and its predecessor—Planeta North America—Allan Malachuk, passed away on April 19th, according to the company. He was 79.
Malachuk, a 40-year printing industry veteran—especially in the folding carton segment—was President of Royal Zenith in 1990, when it was acquired by Polygraph; and he continued in that role for the new US subsidiary, renamed Planeta North America. In 1992, when Polygraph was purchased by Koenig & Bauer AG, the name was changed to KBA North America Inc. and was relocated to Williston Vermont. Mr. Malachuk remained President & CEO until his retirement in 2002.
