formerly 135 converted into 6135. Now we are considering getting an interposer.

We have a solid workhorse xerox 135 that was converted into a 6135 and we're looking at increasing its capacity.

I spoke to several Xerox techs last year and they said our docutech is old to get one installed. However, our docutech was originally a 135 which had a touchscreen with a big scanner. People said that machine couldnt be converted into a 6135 digital machine and yet it got converted into a 6135 digital machine. So I dont see how or why it cannot be done with a retrofit.

An interposer is a nice benefit, it will allow us to run more paper trays and more paper programming functions (stocks to by pass fuser, collate misc sheets, reduce labour in hand bindery, increased 11x17 paper capacity).

Getting a new machine is not a solution - we already own a couple of docutechs (a very slow model) with an interposer and we are evaluating at all options with our machines.

Im hoping Xerox or somebody with a strong xerox knowledge would chime in.

Have you talked to Xerox sales?
Sales will sell you a retrofit to make waffles if they can get a commission on it.
Service will tell you that you can only print imaginary paper if it means they don't have to do work.

Give them a tweet @XeroxProduction
