Galileo Plate Handler

Hi- I hope somebody can help. We have a Galileo VE with the plate manager and the LP82 processor. Every Monday morning when starting the machine it goes through the boot process just fine. When we send the 1st plate the picker does not go all the way to the right spot to pick the plate and it errors out. I have to get into the diagnostic mode and move the picker back and forth from home to the plate handler 4 or 5 times than its fine for the rest of the week (we leave it on 24 hours everyday until Friday) Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks-------

WOW, Perhaps there is a ghost in the house. It sounds like scary Movie!

I certainly can fix your Machine.

It errors out! What do you mean it errors out? Picker Moves to the Plate Manager, The Cassette Moves Up/ Do not move out, then what happens? What picker does picks the Plate/not?.
Tell me the physical situation of the picker, plate, cassette and the error appears. What is the error number ?

Say that to managers of Patson's Press, but not to a Galileo operator, Farshad!
That Company is big enough to find a good former AGFA tech in California... and to pay him.

Ok Vlad,
Read your PM.

Hi Farshad- Wow I don't know whats with the hostility from Vlad, all Im looking for is input for the problem. When I say the picker moves into the plate manager it does not go all the way to the pick position. It stops short were there is a sensor that the tab on the picker does not quit reach it. It errors out right there, as I said I move it back and forth through diagnostics going from engine to plate manager for a few times and in doing this I still get the error until it finally starts working than it is fine for the rest of the week. The error that comes up is "error code 1013 Shuttle Drive servo timed out going to pick position". Any help you can give me would be great. Also any idea why Vlad is saying things like that?

Because the Galileo is really complicated device and most of errors can not be fixed simply by turning OFF/ON the power switch.
That's not a software issue when everybody can give you a hint a-la put check/unchek mark at that feature and... done.
Galileo needs a professional intervention in case of such a kind of errors because of lots of factors like good leveling, wheels free rotation, home sensors and so on...
Only two ways for good diagnostics I know: visit to the site or video conference... and that needs some time of the professional... for free of charge?
In case of your car - CHECK ENGINE lamp lit... can you visit any garage and ask for diagnostic for free of charge???
Why do you think the situation in here is not the same?

We live in tough times and the professionals like Farshad or me, need to be paid for our knowledge and years of experience.

That's my solid point of view.
