Lost power to my Gestetner 5499 duplicator yesterday, heard a small pop, tested the main power fuse and got nothing...After replacing the fuse the machine still will not power on!! Any advise as to what would be causing the problem..All fuses seem to be fine:confused:.

Probably need to replace the power supply. I don't usually see fuses blowing unless something further down the line is bad.

First thanks for your reply...Second where would the power supply be located?? And how would I test that it's bad..

Looks like there is only one power supply and it is behind the rear cover on the right side. I would test by replacing it with a new one :) We pretty much do board level troubleshooting. If the machine won't turn on and a fuse was blown I would guess power supply.

Can't guarantee something further down isn't killing it thought and the new one might get fried too.

I'm not an expert but the only thing I can see that might be the power supply is a board that's 1ft X approx. 2ft...But thats where the power cord comes in and every branches off from there..I'm I right in saying that the power supply?
If so LOOKS LIKE I NEED A TECH!!! I was just trying to save myself $125.00 an hour, but looks like there's know way around it..Should I let them know that it may be the power supply or will the tech already have one on hand? Or do they have something that runs a diagnostics test on the machine?
