Getting started in Digital Printing?

Hello, am new to the forums and love all the input you give to each other. My question is what would be a good digital press to get started in digital printing. Right now I run 2 small offset presses. 1 is a A.B. Dick 9800 with a T-51 2nd unit and a Ryobi 3302. Seems we are doing more and more color work nowadays and subbing alot of work out. Generally are runs are 5000 or less. Is their a Digital Press that would fit our needs? I do run alot of envelopes, however like I said they are short runs. Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction as it seems our offset just can't do the 4 color work that our customers prefer. Any input greatly appreciated. Scott

To give a valid answer we would need more information about your work mix, i.e. are the 5"000 runs" full sheets or are they more like postcards that can be run 4, 6, or 8 up. What substrate requirements? Envelopes are another question . .. see other threads about that. We find that the sweet spot to go from digital to offset is about 1000 full size sheets, but then we have a 4/c speedmaster to go to after that. But our current digital press is a Xerox 770 and it handles our digital work very nicely . . . .
