Hi,

We have a new Pod Coffee maker, its in the office next to me. When its working its sounds exactly like the replenisher pump on my old glunz & jensen film processor. Everytime I hear it, I get transported back to a happier time. Maybe Im just too old!

Replenishing with Pods could make the film processor's maintenance easier than Rapid Access - and even happier times...

Just had a flashback to the stench that was created when the developer & stop bath mixed. There was a period that I developed by hand using trays in a small unventilated dark room. Later on acquired an automatic processor but the chemistry still mixed as it got old.
I still seem to have my fingers intact and my lungs don't appear to be any worse for wear.
Related; remember Itek cameras? Couldn't begin to count the number of times I was up to my armpits in chemistry pulling out jammed plate material.

My first print shop job was at 14 in the late 80s early 90s. One of the weekly chores was cleaning the Itek camera. Hated doing that.

We never had cleaning on a schedule. It was more like; when the image got bad enough that it could no longer be ignored. In other words, we procrastinated, and whoever was having the most difficulty with their plate was generally who was stuck with the task of cleaning and replacing the chemistry.
There were the early days of project-a-lith plates. Then electrostatic came along and were cheaper for short run purposes. This was prior to photocopies, for you young ones ;) Then silver something or other, that were heavier, longer lasting.
Sorry, kind of got away from the topic of pumps.

Or, when the replenisher lines got accidentally switched...
You find out when your rush jobs' films come out undeveloped, the developer in the tank turns black and the tank gets so very dirty it takes hours to clean the mess.
Ohhh those happy times...

Electrostatic Itek camera - my arms got great workouts opening and closing the glass shooting plates for hours a day. I was so thrilled when we upgraded to an AB Dick(?) digital electrostatic platemaker!

I see I'm in the company of like aged people!
This thread sure brings back memories. I think I've used every one of the machines and processes mentioned here!
