Head stop scratching

I have a 1993 GTO 52 single color
I am having trouble with the head stops scratching a solid printed 24 hours ago when I make the second pass. Are there any adjustments to the amount the the head stops rise after the sheet is grabed by the gripers.

are you sure that its the head stops. is this a thick sheet. I am sure there is an adjustment, but I dont think you want to make that adjustment.

crank the press round till the head lays are in the fully "up" position, effectively where they are when a sheet layed and positioned to be taken by the swing arm grippers, and clean the head lay and swing arm grippers with a strong cleaner or IPA on a rag wrapped round a steel ruler... they probably have oil and old ink built up on them that can scratch...

Otherwise look at smoother positioning, run them harder on edge of sheet or in a gutter if possible, as the lays swing up and away they will help hold the sheet down tighter and hopefully away from the swing arm grippers and minimise scratching...

I already cleaned the heas stops

Letting the ink cure over the weekend and stronger downward force on the holddowns in the gutters has fixed the problem

Thank you for your help
