We're looking to purchase a Horizon Stitchliner 5500. We've looked at a couple machines, their impression counts ranges from 5 - 20 million (years 2007 - 2013). Is anyone running this model of machine? Is it reliable?, what are the wear points we should be looking at?, Should we stay under a specific impression count?, are there any drawbacks when comparing to the newer stitchliner models or conventional saddlestitchers?
We run all our jobs as 4 page forms on a SM52 where we then fold the signatures and run through a conventional saddlesticher. We're thinking the process may be faster by using a stitchliner where the forms are collated / folded / stitched and trimmed in one pass.
Any feedback on the stitchliner is appreciated.
