Fair point. I apologize for being so cryptic. I want to be careful about being too commercial.
We have formed a very close partnership with a compnay called Fine Eye Color Solutions. Their CEO was one of the original guys from Adobe. They have an innovative technology that has re-invented how separations are handled - one of the ONLY elements of print production that has been static for over a century. This is a Mac-based server, PDF in/PDF out, hot folder-based, integrates with every workflow easily, does not change naming conventions......
we "vetted" this technology for months at a $75M web shop, $18M sheet shop, and at a cold-set web shop. You process files before sending to CTP RIP, make plates, mount on press......goose densities (with AM or FM screens) and watch the pressman's jaw hit the floor. This is not GCR, UCR or anything like it. We are launching this at the IPA conference in June. We have 10 customers currently but we are being rather quiet about this. We are seeing:
- 20% wider gamuts (measured by Colorthink)
- faster make readies
- more stable printing
-......and 25% less ink used on AVERAGE
BUT.....it is also:
- is colorometric (sp?)
- maintains tonality
- maintains grey balance of G7
AND.....unlike GMG, CGS, Alwan.....this also works on wide format inkjet and digital printing....!!!....the markets that are still growing.
