hp 5000 print driver

With our older macs we used something called Plate Pro for printing laser plates. It allowed us to select a print driver that automatically positioned the page image allowing for plate bend, and print the application's crop/registration marks. The company that sold this is apparently out of business, and it'd not available for OS X. What we end up doing now is copy a page image and place it in a template, and create our own crop marks. We sometimes place a pdf of the image in the template, which is fine when it works, but sometimes causes problems (another topic).
Does anyone know of a print driver that will do what our old Plat Pro did, or have any suggestions for a better work flow for producing these plates?

If what you want is to still use your old HP Laserjet 5000, i could recomend you to buy a new rip from xitron but it would be expensive. what i would do is to retire into administrative use the 5000, and buy a xante impressia. that laser printer prints on aluminium plates with great quality.
