Illustrator issue

A friend sent me this file from Illustrator.
She says ANYTIME she uses any drawing tool
the thing draws these repeating diminishing shapes.
It is odd
the repeating shapes are not uniform.
Has anyone seen this and know what the issue is?
(She is on CS6 - "Cloud" version)

There is a strange function within Illustrator whereby if you hold the ~ key while using one of the drawing tools you get multiple shapes produces at varying sizes when you move the cursor around.
I hope this helps.

Hey Ben,

Thanks. That looks like the deal, exactly.
I don't know why anyone would hold that key when drawing a shape
unless they knew what it did.
I will see if she knows why she did.

Thanks much,
Mike

It is possible that she was pressing it instead of alt or shift...

I'm glad to have been of assistance.

That is amazingly cool. If you hold one of the other buttons, like alt or shift, you get a uniform shape that gets larger the more you drag it out. There are some amazing shapes you can make. Yes, it doesn't take much to amuse me.
