Driven by the COVID-19 impact, food banks around the world are experiencing dramatic increases in demand for food assistance. Now, more than ever, food banks need corrugated boxes to distribute food.
International Paper (IP) is responding with one of its essential products—corrugated boxes. The company has committed to donating 2-million corrugated boxes to hunger-relief organizations.
This donation will benefit hunger-relief organizations such as Feeding America, The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) and others. According to GFN, "Food banks have had to shift their model from serving daily hot meals to distributing food rations in boxes. Without boxes, we simply cannot get food to people".
A social media campaign has been launched—#HelpFillTheBoxes—to encourage those who are able to donate to food banks in their communities.
Donations can be made to Feeding America at U.S. Hunger Relief Organization | Feeding America
or to The Global FoodBanking Network at foodbanking.org/covid19.
