International Paper Shutting Down 4 More Plants

I just read where International Paper is shutting down 4 more plants and laying off about 1,500 workers.

OMG!

What Does It Mean !!????!!!

IP has not been a paper company for about two years. There was a spinoff for the paper division and they are called Sylvamo. Separate company with their own headquarters also in Memphis, TN.
 
IP is still a packaging company along with pulp and fiber but not a paper company. A new CEO came in a few months ago and is shaking things up from what I am hearing.
