The atmosphere at drupa 2016–the world’s biggest trade fair for print and cross media–exceeded all expectations. As the 11-day trade fair drew to a close, 1,837 exhibitors from 54 countries unanimously reported excellent business deals, promising contacts and a positive spirit for the global print industry.
Decision makers and capital spenders galore
Some 260,000 visitors from 188 countries and 1,900 journalists from 74 countries travelled to Düsseldorf, and approximately 75% of all visitors were decision-making executives.
According to the visitors’ survey, drupa 2016 was an excellent B2B venue for making business decisions, as shown by the results:
• 54% came there with concrete investment intentions,
• 29% placed orders during drupa,
• 30% are planning to place orders after drupa,
• 60% found new suppliers there.
Re-positioning drupa on future themes with strong growth potential–3D printing, functional printing and packaging printing–proved to be a real asset. Whether it was publication, commercial, packaging or industrial printing, drupa showed off technology that offered matching solutions for all these applications.
